Key Account Manager - Liverpool

Star are recruiting for a Key Account Manager to work in the Diabetes therapy area with key NHS accounts such as CCGs and Health Boards to understand and achieve a shared goal in the vision of improved management of Diabetes Care. To achieve this, a wide breadth & depth of NHS customers must be seen & worked with. By working with NHS partners, they will secure appropriate access for company Diabetes care products. This role will also require you to lead the locality team with focus and clarity at all times by selling the promoted system to healthcare professionals so that they have a clear understanding of the company's portfolio and the opportunity to improve patient outcomes. Finally, you will be expected to partner with 3-5 territory managers in the region to jointly drive the company.

Key responsibilities of a Key Account Manager include:

* Managing a set of accounts within an agreed region to achieve agreed business objectives through the development and commercial management of effective customer relationships and thoroughly understanding the NHS and all its stakeholders
* Understanding fully, each customer's agenda and identifying common goals to work together
* Producing and implementing plans across a geographical area in order to achieve specific brand objectives
* Creating high quality account plans and achieving sales targets by maximising sales opportunities through return on investment
* Developing effective customer relationships and through understanding of the NHS and by seeing a broad range of customers that reflect the needs of each account
* Directing both internal and external resources into the accounts and regularly monitoring progress in accounts and evolving action plans as appropriate
* Leading responses to tender/formulary requests within the region
* Delivering access to Diabetes Care brands by securing local NHS approval and guideline inclusion in assigned local health economics
* Monitoring competitive activity in each account and ensuring that appropriate response strategies are formulated and communicated
* Partnering with regional business managers and territory managers to coordinate implementation plans for successful formulary listings
* Taking a strategic view of company business within key accounts and delivering on-going opportunities for the promoted products
* Developing and mobilising Key Opinion Leaders across the local healthcare economy

Key requirements of a Key Account Manager include:

* An education of degree level of equivalent
* Demonstrable experience as a successful Key Account Manager or equivalent
* High level of negotiation and selling skills
* Proven ability to partner with sales and other colleagues to jointly meet objectives
* Proven ability to work independently and demonstrate pro-activity
* A full UK driving licence
* Thorough and up to date knowledge of industry and other appropriate guidelines
