An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals Trust to appoint an individual with commercial clinical trials experience to help establish a new Late Phase Clinical Trials Unit. This stand-alone facility represents a novel concept for NHS institutions, being independent from trust clinicians, having its own generic PIs and recruiting primarily by direct approaches to community based patients. Innovative recruitment strategies will be used including the use of community pharmacies, consent for contact and social media.
We are looking to appoint to this new role – the new “Late Phase Clinical Trials Facility Manager” will help us to define and develop our new unit, as well as supporting the staffing of the unit, developing all required processes and procedures to enable the Trust to capitalise on this vision.
They will lead the work to ensure our staff are appropriately skilled, our standard operating procedures are fit for purpose, implementing them across the Unit in line with those across the Trust, thereby enabling our research to reach more potential participants across the region. They will also be responsible for developing and refining recruitment strategies and developing a brand for the unit.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are a must, as is the ability to manage a varied workload to tight timescales. An excellent opportunity for a self-starter with a commercial background!
