Senior Account Manager - Diagnostics

South UK

Our client, a global leader within diagnostics, are currently looking to recruit a Senior Account Manager for the Southern UK region. The position will be selling the whole range of products within the company's portfolio to C-Suite customers in strategic key accounts.

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

* Investigate and understand the strategic account and their business environment, including goals, objectives, strategies and competitive situation
* Identify industry trends and changing market regulations, and understand impact on strategic accounts
* Maintain a detailed understanding of customer decision-makers and influencers; build and preserve customer relationships to leverage in driving new sales and protecting base business
* Identify opportunities or act upon previously identified opportunities to prepare and deliver account-specific value propositions resulting in positive action
* Responsible for driving profitable revenue and closing opportunities within strategic named accounts, by initiating, developing and/or delivering unique solutions that result in improved customer outcomes and benefits
* Understand, analyse and accurately interpret key financial performance indicators for strategic accounts
* Negotiate contracts resulting in long-term commitments
* Provide leadership and direction regarding all interactions with strategic accounts; act as a trusted advisor to the customer
* Integrate information from ongoing business analysis and assessment into a multi-year plan and lead through persuasion and personal influence an internal 'selling' team to develop an actionable account strategy, with short-term tactics to achieve desired results
* Coordinate all appropriate resources to execute the strategic account plan including assigning roles, expectations, responsibilities and timelines; engage members of the team through ongoing communication, tactical planning and execution
* Overall account management including detailed account planning and sales forecasting

The ideal candidate will be / have:

* Educated to degree level, or equivalent
* Proven sales experience within the diagnostics/life science industry
* Proven sales experience at executive level selling broad and complex product lines
* Proven ability to build long-term strategic and senior level relationships and demonstrated capability to uncover a large complex organisation's strategic long-term plan and short-term tactics and translate into a winning solution
* Proven success as an expert in all aspects of value-based, solution selling and ability to work in cross-functional teams to meet clearly defined objectives
* Proven sales management experience would be advantageous, but not essential
* Strong negotiation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Strong internal and external networking skills with robust inter-personal skills that will develop and enhance long-term relationships
* Full driving licence
